Daemonheim Remastered: The Dungeoneering Rework is Finally Here

The Dungeoneering Remastered update is live! From T90 Ruinous gear and the Chaotic Grimoire to a total rework of the Prestige system, here is everything changing in Daemonheim this May.

Daemonheim Remastered: The Dungeoneering Rework is Finally Here

The wait is over. Jagex has officially pulled the curtain back on the Dungeoneering Remastered update for May 2026, and it’s more than just a fresh coat of paint. For years, Daemonheim has felt like a time capsule. A relic of 2010 design living in a 2026 world. This rework aims to fix the friction that has pushed players toward "The Hole" during beach events rather than actually running floors.

The Death of the Prestige Grind

The most significant shift is the removal of the punishing old Prestige system. In its place, Jagex has introduced a stackable floor buff system that rewards momentum rather than forcing a tedious reset of your progress every 60 floors.

Lower floors have received a massive scaling pass. Historically, rushing through Frozen and Abandoned floors felt like a chore you had to finish before getting to the "real" XP in Occult and Warped. Now, floor scaling ensures that time spent in the lower depths is actually rewarded with competitive XP and token rates.

Tokens, Skilling, and the Economy of the Deep

If you’ve ever hit level 80 Dungeoneering only to realize you’re still 50k tokens short of a Chaotic, you’ll appreciate the new token gain buffs. Token drops have been rebalanced across the board, with a focus on making solo runs significantly more viable.

Skilling within the floors has also been modernized. XP gains from nodes and resource spots now scale with your actual level in those skills, turning Daemonheim into a legitimate training alternative for gathering skills rather than a series of click-and-wait obstacles.

Necromancy Enters the Dungeon

It’s finally happened: Necromancy integration is live. You can now craft necro-specific gear, utilize rituals within the floors, and benefit from new Ring of Kinship classes tailored for the underworld's combat style.

To go along with the new combat meta, the Dungeoneering Bosses have been reworked. Many of the older bosses had mechanics that were either trivialized by modern power creep or were just plain clunky. They’ve been tuned with new telegraphs and health pools that respect the damage output of 2026 gear.

High-Tier Loot: T90s and the Chaotic Grimoire

The reward shop has seen its biggest expansion in a decade. The headline additions are the T90 Ruinous weapons and armor. These fill a vital niche for mid-to-high level players looking for powerful gear with unique "Warpbane" effects.

Community sentiment is particularly high regarding the new Chaotic Grimoire. Players on Reddit have already dubbed it the "budget-friendly pocket slot king." It offers a crit-focused buff that is significantly cheaper to maintain than the Eroded Grimoire, making it a staple for mid-game bossing and high-end Slayer.
